REPORT FROM THE "OVER THE HILLS BUSHWALKING GROUP”

On Sunday, 30/10/11, 16 people came to Fagan Park, Galston.  We had a pleasant walk around the park, followed by a very enjoyable BBQ lunch. Thanks to everyone for their salads, cakes, etc.

On Sunday, 27/11/11, 11 people came on our end-of-year outing – a ferry ride to Watsons Bay followed by a walk around the area.  We were lucky to be there on one of the few days when they do tours of the Macquarie Lighthouse.  Beautiful views from the top of the lighthouse.  We had a seafood lunch at the wharf, followed by the ferry ride back to the city.

From Thursday, 19/1/12 to Thursday, 26/1/12, we will be in Thredbo.  I will report on this trip in the next Kurier.

On Saturday 25/2/12 to Sunday 26/2/12 we will have our annual trip to the Blue Mountains.  We will meet at 10 AM at the corner of the Great Western Highway and Mount York Road.  We will walk the Berghofers Pass Track (3.2 KM easy).  Bring a snack & water for the walk.  Afterwards we will have lunch or Devonshire Tea at Mount Victoria before driving to Hampton.

Several rooms have been reserved at the Hampton Halfway House Hotel for the Saturday night.  Accommodation costs $65 per double room and $50 per single room.  If you do not wish to stay overnight at Hampton you can still come for the walk and lunch, which should finish before 3 PM.  If you do not wish to go on the bushwalk you can still come to the Hampton Halfway House Hotel for the night and go mushrooming with us on the Sunday morning.

On Sunday, 25/3/12, we will walk in the Ku-Ring-Gai Wildflower Garden along the Mueller Track (3 Km).  Bring lunch.  As I will be away, Alena has agreed to organise this walk.

On Sunday 29/4/12, we will meet at 10:00 AM in the railway station car park on Richardsons Crescent, Tempe, for a car shuttle to Canterbury.  We will walk 5 KM along the Cooks River Track back to Tempe.  After the walk we will visit the Concordia Club for lunch.
